Brief
Nike launched Mind 001 as their first neuroscience-backed performance shoe, built around Nike Mind Technology that targets sensory areas of the brain. NEW FORMAT produced the official 50-second launch clip. The audio had to carry product narrative, athlete interviews and motion-driven 3D animation inside one continuous edit without losing voice clarity or visual rhythm.

Approach
The score sits closer to soundscape than to track. Pulsing electronic patterns drive forward motion, the tonal language stays uplifting and weightless. The composition holds open the spectral and rhythmic space the visual storytelling needs, then leans into accent moments where motion and product reveal demand audio weight.

We split the audio into two functional layers running in parallel:
• A musical bed that carries the 50 seconds as one arc
• Sound design tied frame-accurate to the 3D motion, so each transition, articulation and product hero moment reads on its own without crowding the score

Production
Rhythmic patterns and tonal beds came from hardware. Waldorf XT and Prophet 12 ran as the core voices. The hardware path keeps the texture analog and grounded, which anchors the synthetic 3D world into something physical.
Sound design relied on Krotos Reformer Pro for performative motion-driven layers. The tool maps incoming control signals onto curated sample profiles, which made the motion-to-sound translation fast and consistent across multiple animation passes from the NEW FORMAT team.
